And Justice for somePosted by Natalie Bingham in NCCWF , courts , Blogs |
Today Judge Belk appears before th Judicial Standards Commission to tell his side of what happened in the hallway outside of Judge Lisa Bell's office.Among other accusations Judge Lisa Bell is accusing Judge Belk of intimidating her and instilling a sense of fear in her ,during a conversation which according to Bell got out of hand when Belk "raised his voice" . Judge Lisa Belll spent the weekend( after that fateful friday ) filing a complaint to the Judicial Standards Commission., which then spun into several other complaints attached along the way, including the worn out sonic industries complaint which states that judge Belk is in violation of the judicial code for refusing to step down from the board.( Oh! by the way the accusers are also the jury in this investigation). In fact Paul Ross the director of the JSC has testified that he too was nervous and a bit intimidated with Judge Belk's stature. Maybe we should all dress up as Judge Belk for halloween.
What are your thoughts !!Do you think its fair to have the JSC the accusers ,along with their insider judge Lisa Bell ( represented with their own attorneys) also be the ones to make findings of fact in this investigation? Do you feel this further supports the urgent need for court reform, when its clear by this setup that even a sitting judge cannot get a fair and impartial hearing?!!!

NCCWF Comments on Domestic Violence IssuesPosted by Natalie Bingham in mecklenburg , emotions , domestic violence , courts , childrens rights , abuse |
Domestic Violence can be physical, mental or emotional. It can continue for decades even after the relationship has ended. Abusers use these emotions to instill fear and control the lives of
their spouse /girlfriend and their innocent children. Often the courts take on the role of the enabler granting the abuser privileges they should not be entitled to have. For example Mecklenburg county district courts provides the abuser with an attorney from the Council
for Childrens Rights, which in turn represents the best interest of the abuser and continues to file frivolous, harassing motions for the abuser, so the cycle continues. Their goal make is to make money at all cost, & at the expense of the victims and their families.
